She founded Citrus Studios, a branding and digital design agency that has been delighting clients with creative solutions since 1999. Additionally, she serves as the CEO of Orange & Bergamot, a creative and consulting agency dedicated to supporting women entrepreneurs in achieving their dreams.
Her impressive portfolio of successful ventures includes Luxe Link, a chic purse hook that keeps handbags off the floor, and the Waxing Co., an award-winning waxing salon in Hawaii. Kalika is also the author of the engaging “The Little Brand Book,” published by Harper Collins, which offers a treasure trove of branding and marketing insights.
As an entrepreneur coach, Kalika has set an ambitious goal of helping 1 million entrepreneurs make $1 million in revenue and create 1 million jobs. She is a certified coach through the Academy for Coaching Excellence and the International Coach Federation (ICF). Her dedication to this mission is evident in her active membership within the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO), a global peer-to-peer network for business owners. Kalika has held multiple leadership positions within the organization and shares her insights and interviews with other entrepreneurs through her podcast, “The EO Wonder Podcast.”
Throughout her career, Kalika has received numerous awards, including the Rising Star Award from NAWBO and the Technology Firm of the Year Award from the Asian Business Association. A sought-after speaker at conferences and universities such as USC, UCLA, CSUN, Loyola, and UC San Diego for their entrepreneurship programs, Kalika shares her knowledge and experience to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs.
Kalika holds a BA in English and Journalism from New York University (NYU) and graduated from the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) Entrepreneurs Masters Program (EMP) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), further honing her business acumen.
Married to her supportive husband Rodney, who manages the finances for all their businesses, Kalika is also a proud mom of two entrepreneurial teens, Malia and Kailani Yap, who co-founded Conscious Kids Cookies, a company offering eco-friendly and nutritious snacks for children.
A devoted meditator, Kalika is currently pursuing her MMTCP (Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program) through UC Berkeley’s Greater Good Science Center, adding another dimension to her already diverse skillset.
Kalika’s passions include reading 50+ books a year, enjoying afternoon tea, reading poetry, performing tea ceremonies, taking mindful walks on the beach, and cycling on the Peloton.
Passionate about giving back, she actively supports organizations that empower women and foster education, such as Girls Who Code and the Harvard-Westlake Inc Program.
