The Journey

Have you thought of exploring a new relationship but have felt as an entrepreneur, you’re just too busy to do so?

Have you wanted to apply for an award but were to anxious to go for it?

Has someone ever given you a new dish to try and you immediately cringe?

Have you seen someone different on the street from you and you’re immediately turned off?

We often have a knee jerk reaction to things.

Our body freezes up, our mind shudders with an immediate no.

This habit of automatically contracting whether it’s big or little is something you may want to reflect on.

As I continue my Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program, I came across a powerful poem by Pesha Joyce Gertler called “The Healing Time.”

This poem reminds us of the importance of moving away from our habitual “no” responses and embracing the possibilities of saying “yes.”

Today, we explore the profound message of this poem.

As you read it, think about how this connects with your yourself as an entrepreneur.

The Healing Time

Finally, on my way to yes
I bump into all the places
where I said no to my life

all the untended wounds
the red and purple scars
those hieroglyphs of pain
carved into my skin, my bones,

those coded messages
that send me down
the wrong street
again and again

where I find them
the old wounds the old misdirections
and I lift them one by one
close to my heart

and I say holy

Embracing the Journey to “Yes”

As entrepreneurs we often encounter moments of contraction, resistance, and fear.

Where you have said “no” to opportunities, growth, or self-expression in your entrepreneurial journey?

Often times we find that the more we retract, the more resist life the more our life leads us to wrong places.

In the end, these contractions also serve as guide posts, leading us to the areas in our lives and businesses where we need to heal, where we need to transform.

By embracing these moments and acknowledging the wounds, scars, and misdirections that have shaped us, are part of the journey, we inevitably create space for healing and growth.

This process allows us to move closer to who we truly are. And helps us  align our actions with our true purpose.

Remember, saying “yes” is not about blindly accepting every opportunity that comes your way. It’s about consciously choosing to embrace the possibilities, overcome limitations, and live a life filled with purpose and fulfillment.

Most of us just have no idea how many times we say no internally, which affects our lives externally.

I encourage you to just look and see.

How many times do you say no in a day?

Wishing you one more yes,
